The following story was written for my JMC 553 class (Advanced Editing and Production). While in this class, we primarily worked as copy editors for the school newspaper, The University Daily Kansan. This was my final paper, and it is a story about an editor I interviewed named Dante Ciampaglia. He’s had an expansive editing career, and it was a delight to interview him.

The following are three articles written for my JMC 415 class (Multimedia Reporting). In this class, we acted as though we were in a newsroom, which means that we needed to write articles, produce video packages, study journalism skills and develop them, and more with strict deadlines and lots of work.

This article is an enterprise article about recreation centers on college campuses around the Midwest region. I gathered data and spoke with multiple recreation employees to write this article and compare and contrast each school. The schools that I collected data from were the University of Kansas, the University of Missouri, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

This article is a feature article about an event that happens at the St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center known as Slow Drip.

This article is about a commission meeting with the City of Lawrence Planning Commission. The meeting allowed for the general public to discuss the installation of wind turbines in Douglas County.
